Perhaps the best way to illustrate how psychotherapy can help, is to list just some of the issues that can be dealt with and possibly even resolved in therapy:

  • Addictions (including drugs, alcohol, food, sex & love, money)
  • Grief (loss of a loved one through death, divorce or separation)
  • Depression
  • Self-destructive, repetitive patterns of behaviour
  • Self-harm
  • Emotional issues
  • Personal and family relationships
  • Self esteem

No website can possibly encompass the complexities of our lives and offer solutions to all of our problems.

Most therapies rely on the relationship established between two people for that therapy to begin working. If you do decide to seek help, we can begin with a telephone conversation and you can decide if you are going in the right direction. To do this, click here. If, however, you would like to learn more about other options, or find a therapist in your area, please go to Resources.

The questions we all ask are simple in nature, but difficult to answer for ourselves. Each of us, at some point in our lives, needs someone to listen to what we have to say, to understand and to help us towards ways of accommodating change in our lives. The confidentiality and impartiality of a therapist can only help in creating a safe place for some of those questions to be asked and for the answers to be looked at.
